Mercury, (2022)

In Chelsea’s GreenHaus garden, Mercury was projected from Melissa’s studio, which overlooked the garden.

Greenhaus’s creation had to be approved several months before its official creation due to fear of mercury poisoning in the soil. It was believed to be a thermometer dumping site when the area was an army hospital during the war. Inspired by this idea of toxicity, the Greek messenger and the element, Mercury was projected onto the garden entrance. Its bright, vivid hypnotising colours loop through the Lumination exhibition with the song “Can't you see” by Rick Wade playing simultaneously.
